THREAD: Irony: we buy totally virgin, wild property in the ozarks to be near a TLM specifically at a monastery - that isn& #39;t built yet, but will be. In the mean time we attend a NO (no choice). everyone is 60+. Their kids live here still, but don& #39;t attend. today we arrived early 1
b/c DH is a little speeder. a gray haired lady asked him to come to "community scripture" time. He obliged (she may regret this). Today& #39;s Gospel in NO was the two commandments. a hang up for people who aren& #39;t well catechized, "but we don& #39;t have to follow all ten anymore" 2
This woman& #39;s son is our age (40s) and this was his first sunday back at mass after a long long time away. the "group" was she, her DH, and her son - and my DH and 2nd son. Thank goodness my DH and son went, right. yeah. to cut this short, but the end of it, her son said, 3
"Well, now I don& #39;t know if I should receive in the hand anymore." and the lady declared that she was going to go home and read VII. Also, this parish has <20 families (aka elderly couples) that attend it. Moral of the story. We NEED TO GO THE FRINGES. 4
We, who are well catechized, have a duty (maybe under pain of sin), to use our "talents" given to us by the grace of God, to help others know, love and serve him. "ben", newly reverted, learned that a.) his mom doesn& #39;t know everything about the faith, and b.) that the faith is 5
manly because my husband and 17 year old son were willing to charitably disclose the truth to her. (I know it was charitable because afterward she came up to me and was thanking me for them-which was awkward, but sweet). We can& #39;t abandon our brothers and sisters.
