Training Divergences: Weightlifting vs. Cardio/Russia vs. USA/ Eastern Bloc Vs. Western Bloc
The focus on cardio training here in the West didn't happen overnight, but is largely due to the ideological and philosophical differences after the Second World War.

The European world was split in two at East vs. West Germany and so the ideological differences began.
Russia and Eastern bloc still focused on traditional weightlifting and the importance of strength in overall health.

Whereas in the West, including USA, focused on cardio training from Swedish endurance exercise training.
The focus on cardio hasn't stopped since. Cardio is excellent; however, if you truly want to dominate to be the best version of yourself, then you need to build muscle.

Look at the average guy that ONLY does cardio. They're frail and look like they're about to fall apart at the seems.
Look at the average guy who has lifted for 10 years. They're strong, good looking, and can throw weights around like they're candy.

To get the best of both worlds, do cardio AND lift weights.
