A1a: for me, as a white, English-speaking Canadian, algorithmic influence in my life can appear pretty benign. my face, my first language...algorithms are trained to treat me as neutral.

A1b: i *do* see algorithms daily in advertising, when i get sold what i already bought lol
but also when algorithms gets me wrong: when they take my age, race & apparent gender & bet i identify at the intersection of those stereotypes.
