A thread on this cold dark evening to warm your heart.

This has grown legs considerably in the last 24 hours to include young people suffering from their own mental health issues.

Inspiring to see @SSEAirtricityLg stars reach out and have a chat with people young and oldđź’™
Craig is a young @CorkCityFC fan who is finding life tough these days not seeing his team recently and relegation last night.

What better way to cheer you up than receiving a call from his favourite player @Gearoid_M.

Touch of class after his own disappointment yesterday.
A @bfcdublin fan who wanted to help out his @ShamrockRovers pal after the Covid 19 restrictions had a huge bearing on his friends mental health.

@FAIreland international and fresh from winning the @SSEAirtricityLg title, @Jackb_8 made this young man's year with a call today.
Paddy lives on his own in Gaoth Dobhair and a lifelong @FinnHarpsFC fan. He has been at a loss since his wife passed away.

Former Harps, @derrycityfc and @NorthernIreland international @PaddyMcCourt15 contacted him to see how he was doing.

He was nearly in tears after the call
Jim (84) was contacted by @sligorovers midfielder @DavidCawley22 following last night's win over Cork.

Jim's wife died two years ago and was her carer. He loves gardening and dancing and misses her company terribly.

David and him had a great chat about all things Sligo.
Ciaran Kilduff, striker at @shelsfc was asked to contact a young season ticket holder who misses attending Tolka Park with his Grandad and brother.

His Godfather felt a call from his favourite player would brighten his day and it had a huge impact on the young fan.
John (76) is a lifelong @stpatsfc fan with deep family roots within the Dublin 8 club. He misses the games but particularly, the social gatherings in McDowells after the games.

Pats goalkeeper @BrenClarke1 was on hand to contact John today and they had a wonderful chat.
David is a retired @ShamrockRovers fan and he received a call from centre forward Aaron Greene which was full of craic and banter about his beloved Rovers team.

David lives alone and misses the games, cheering on his favourite team.
One of the @shelsfc heroes of recent years, Lorcan Fitzgerald, made contact with lifelong supporter Adam, who lost his father this year.

Lorcan and Adam had an emotional chat about life, the pandemic and how hard they both find the current restrictions.
