It& #39;s not that Dak is bad. I don& #39;t think he is. It& #39;s that teams that devote a huge part of the cap to one position don& #39;t win Super Bowls. The last 5 Super Bowl winners have devoted an average of $13m to QB. The highest-paid QB ever to win a Super Bowl is Brady in 18 at $22m. https://twitter.com/TravisBurdett/status/1320432503195340803">https://twitter.com/TravisBur...
I don& #39;t hate paying a good QB what he& #39;s worth. You will contend for the playoff& #39;s pretty often, which is good. But I think the chances are very good that you& #39;ll get locked into a Romo treadmill of not having enough resources to field an elite team around your elite QB.
History says there will be at least one team in the postseason that has a good QB being payed below-market rates, and those teams tend to beat teams that pay their similarly-skilled QB a market rate.
