After Facebook bought Giphy, Facebook pretty quickly gutted 100% of the javascript fired from their competitors, & only started firing Google / DoubleClick code -- the exclusive audience sharing between Facebook + Google also includes a cookie saved to http://google.com/ads

Now, I'm a fan of giphy *not* sharing data with a dozen advertising & analytics companies but NOT at the expense of growing the Facebook + Google duopoly, which FB has eagerly encouraged for coming up on a few years...

Last year I pointed out where Facebook coded the Google pixel ( https://twitter.com/thezedwards/status/1110663227514351617) & showed how it was firing https://twitter.com/thezedwards/status/1107329551799996416 for very sporadic new Facebook sessions. The Facebook newsfeed fresh load->Google Ads pixel firing was a sporadic audience/userID sync..

I've got plenty of research showing the extreme low quality of the Facebook Audience Network which was ripe w/ fraud & was shut off in 2020. https://digiday.com/media/facebook-plans-shut-facebook-audience-networks-mobile-web-arm/

imo FB decided this in ~2018-2019, & decided that Google was the only partner to expand FB ads, off-FB...

There is now proof that:
1) Facebook Synced some http://Facebook.com  user data w/ Google Ads, likely to facilitate pre-targeting/audience-targeting of Facebook ads on the Google Ads Networks.
2) Facebook's acquisition of Giphy resulted in gutting non-Google ad networks.

It's bad enough that Facebook pushed out Google competitors so Google could singularly sync http://Giphy.com  user data, but ICYMI, Google bought the -giphy competitor Tenor .com in 2018 (coverage @ https://techcrunch.com/2018/03/27/google-acquires-gif-platform-tenor/) - so does Google=GIF monopoly now?

I guess Congress doesn't want to get to the bottom of data sharing between Facebook + Google, because some of these facts have been public for over a year- yet not a single question of either org about it in Congressional hearings.

Even Walled Gardens need Friends. 🥺⚖️⛈️
