Aspects 101 (a thread)

Aspects are the angle at which one planet meets another, they represent the relationship between them. These create a divide from someone who may have the same placement as you..aspects create a different interpretation for each chart.

There are plenty of minor aspects but here are the major ones and their angles..
☌ Conjunction (0°)
☍ Opposition (180°)
△ Trine (120°)
□ Square (90°)
✱ Sextile (60°)
below this, I’ll explain what each aspect represents..

• 2 conjunct planets or a conjunction would show how both planets are working together in relation to their inhabited natures.
ex) Mercury communicates & Venus gifts
• A sextile aspect is very easygoing, both planets help one another but not with..great “power”

• Squares show resistance, there’s tension here and push back from each planet
• Trines are representative of their symbol, things flow and push things forward but not always with great rewards
• Opposition, a literal sense. Much like a war, a fight & things don’t mix well

There are definitely a couple more major aspects, but I would recommend studying a couple at a time. Each aspect is based off how many signs a planet is apart....

Conjunction - planets are in the same sign
Semisextile - 1 sign apart
Sextile - 2 signs apart
Square - 3 signs apart
Trine - 4 signs apart
Quincunx - 5 signs apart
Opposition- 6 signs apart

Multiple Planets can aspect each other as well...here they are
• T Square - 3 planets form squares to each other into a triangle
• Grand Square - 4 planets form a square
• Grand Trine - 3 planets form an equilateral triangle
• Yod - 3 planets for form an isosceles triangle

This thread was meant to give you a super quick overview of aspects. I left out a couple things like orbs and minor aspects but I wouldn’t worry too much of perfecting these before signs, houses, degrees, etc...I’ll add resources below to help
