I think the Warren campaign launched with the sincere belief that it could win, and that it had a *very* difficult time abandoning that belief, as her "she can win if you vote for her!" deadenders made perfectly clear up until the very end.

I also think that it was precisely this belief that she could win, and the sense of entitlement that came with it, that fostered this special resentment towards the Sanders campaign when it surged ahead. And that this grudge probably did not make her very motivated to drop out.
But no, I've never bought the conspiracy theory that Warren did a kamikaze run, knowing that she would and/or intending to lose, simply to stop Sanders. This is at odds with everything we know about her ambition and judgment, and it's much more complicated than the simple truth.
