3.Goddess Sati took birth again on earth as the daughter of King Himavat & Queen Mena. They named her Parvati. Narad Muni came to look at the baby and declared she is destined to marry Shiva. While growing up, she would lose herself thinking about Lord Shiva.
4.When she was of marriageable age, she went to the Himalayas to perform penance and appease Lord Shiva and marry him. Lord Shiva was impressed by her devotion and knew about her desire, but he was still in mourning for Goddess Sati.
5.He asked Parvati to serve him as the dasi, as he thought that the rough life will dissuade her.
6.Meanwhile, the gods and people were being terrorised by the demon, Tarakasur. When they approached Lord Brahma for help, he said that Lord Shiva and Parvati’s son will kill the demon.
7. As the gods were getting restless, they decided to help Parvati win Lord Shiva’s affection. They sent Lord Kama, the god of love, to Mount Kailash. He saw Parvati at Lord Shiva’s feet, sowing a garland. He immediately aimed an arrow at them which struck Lord Shiva.
8.Lord Shiva opened his tird eyes and destroy kamdeva. Undeterred, Parvati performed severe penance for years. Finally she remembered her pervious life & realised that she is none other than reincarnation of Goddess Sati. When Lord Shiva sensed that as well, he decided to test her
9. One day, an old brahmin approached Parvati and asked her, “Why are you performing severe penance, my dear? What do you wish to attain?” Parvati told him about her desire to marry Lord Shiva.
10. The brahmin cringed and asked, “Why would a beautiful maiden like you want to marry someone who covers his body with ash and wears tiger skin?”
11.Parvati was furious and replied, “What do you know about him? I am the reincarnation of Goddess Sati, his other half. We are incomplete without each other.” Suddenly, Lord Shiva revealed his true from to her and consented to marry her.
12. Mount Kailash 🗻🙏🚩
The gods came down from heaven to attend the grand wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. They retired to Mount Kailash to lead a happy married life.
13. Shiva and Shakti ~reflection of one another. Shiva forms a Tantric couple with Shakti, the embodiment of energy, dynamism, and the motivating force behind all action and existence in the material universe.
14.Shakti is his transcendent feminine aspect, providing the divine ground of all being.Shiva is the masculine force, the power of peace, while Shakti translates to power, and is considered as the feminine force.
15. In the Vaishnava tradition, these realities are portrayed as Vishnu and Laxmi, or Radha and Krishna. These are differences in formulation rather than a fundamental difference in the principles. Both Shiva and Shakti have various forms.
16.Shiva has forms like Yogi Raj (the common image of Himself meditating in the Himalayas), Rudra (a wrathful form) and Nataraj (Shiva's dance are the Lasya - the gentle form of dance, associated with the creation of the world,
17.and the Tandava - the violent and dangerous dance, associated with the destruction of weary world views – weary perspectives and lifestyles).
18. Shakti manifests in several female deities. She is referred to as Sati , Parvati, Uma, Durga (Parvati), Kali and Chandika.
19.Parvati is the Hindu goddess of fertility, love and devotion; and also determination. She is the wife of Shiva, the supreme being. She is the mother of Skanda, the god of war, and Ganesh, the remover of obstacles.
20.Shakti is usually depicted alongside Shiva with two arms, holding one lotus. Or, she is represented alone, with four arms, holding two lotuses. Parvati is worshiped for help with marriage, parenting, and fertility.
21.Kali is the manifestation of Shakti in her dreadful aspect. The name Kali comes from kala, which means black, time, death, lord of death, Shiva.
22.Since Shiva is called Kala, the eternal time, Kali, his consort, also means "Time" or "Death" (as in "time has come"). Various Shakta Hindu cosmologies, as well as Shakta Tantric beliefs, worship her as the ultimate reality or Brahman.
23.She is also revered as Bhavatarini (literally "redeemer of the universe"). Kali is represented as the consort of Lord Shiva, on whose body she is often seen standing or dancing.
