The whole fucking point is that Kageyama, ever since he first saw Hinata play, SAW his potential. HE LITERALLY THINKS IT IN HIS HEAD IN CHAPTER 2?!! AND HE SAYS THIS,? HOW DO U PPL INTERPRET THIS THEN...

Hinatas in Brazil so he can prove himself to Kageyama and to everyone else, through beating him, that heâs strong enough to be valued as a player /on his own/. That is the literal reason why he is there. I do not know how more obvious this can be. It is plainly stated.
This was never Kageyama âgiving upâ on Hinata. It was Kageyama encouraging and supporting Hinata (and literally getting him to stop crying) through reminding him of his promise to defeat him. In case you werenât aware this is kind of what the entire series revolves around 
Waiting waiting waiting. He has always been waiting.
He has always been running ahead and looking behind to make sure Hinata was keeping up with him.
The series literally ended and we saw the conclusion of this and yet you still act as if your weird skewed version of canon is real.
The grand king in Rio shouldâve been the nail in the coffin. If you read this and still think Kageyama doesnât support Hinata you are a clown.
