Social Media has liberalized activism and more people are joining the struggle for social justice . However we still have grey areas of conflicts that threaten our unity of purpose .
1. We don’t have to always agree with each other in all topics .
Fr example , Sega misunderstood a lot of people and a lot of people in turn misunderstood Sega while all the while the only difference was simply approach . Segalinks was coming from a system point of you pointing out that change needs to be structured systematic.
Others wanted a sweeping change that’d happen overnight . The bottom line is change , we all wanted change and we even know exactly what we wanted changed . This divergence could have complemented each other but our immaturity led to rights rather than collaborations
In South Africa ANC was founded in 1912 but only grabbed power in late 1990s . Over the years it forged alliances with smaller groups that all wanted same things but with different approaches . Some extremist black groups that disavowed all other ethnicities lost out .
In Ala Igbo , the moment you disagree with Nnamdi Kanu or a particular IPOB approach or policy they come for you as a saboteur or traitor . They would brand you an agent of the federal government. This has caused constant conflicts between them and individuals and Ohanaeze
The mistrust and bad blood is hindering growth and harmony of the Igbo interest . Fighting for Igbo political interests in Nigeria doesn’t in Anyways negate struggle for independence. Both out pressures and little gains can always be made one day at a time .
The other example is when you have a different opinion from the mob , they label you as working for the government . For instance a lot of people feel okay with looting and vandalism of government facilities while others do not .we could argue about this withou being vile
Those who preach against anarchy take reference from history . Those who want actions are emotionally frustrated by lethargy of the government . All we need is to listen to one another.there maybe a middle point .That was while ANC crated the youth wing and put Mandela in charge
They needed someone who has the emotional intelligence and would not be carried away . The military wing carried out specific attacks but not wanton destruction. They were very deliberate and took time to pick a target and plan the attacks painstakingly to avoid casualties
2. We tend to demarket working for the government as if it’s such a terrible thing . If indeed we want change who would do it if not us that believe in social justice ? The way we yab people as “you chop from government “ tends to scare our best brains away from the table
BudgiT founder was trolled so much that he quit a government engagement. This fella could have helped to establish tech into governance and bring about automatic transparency. It didn’t need to affect his company. It was soludo that consolidated banks , I think sanusi did BVT etc
