i forgot to post this but quick thread about what i learned the other day in law school.

side note : i’m from France so it doesn’t work exactly the same way in the US but i thought this could be good to know anyway.

the legal system (which is basically the same in the US only a little more complex bc there are states involved) can take up to 10 years if not more to finally reach a final decision. when one of the parties thinks that the case has been misjudged, they can ask to take the case -

- to the court of appeal. if they believe that the decision reached there is still not acceptable they can ask to go to the supreme court. they can even go further but the time it takes and the amount of money it requires usually dissuades people. now that i’ve told you about -
