I wonder if Alien Vendetta still holds up or if its design comes off as antiquated

*gets the SSG, immediately has to fight a screamy bone boy in a cramped room*

could've been released yesterday
(if it sounds like I'm being negative then just youuuuuuu wait til you play Don't Turn Your Back On The City)
This wad is interesting in the sense that its level of abstraction is mostly around the same as Doom, but every now and then it breaks the surface of lucidity and you're like "oh these are train tracks" or "oh that's a ruined hut"
It was a collaborative effort by a bunch of different mappers, but—but!—these moments aren't by any means the work of a single author.
In contravention to this thread, some ways in which Alien Vendetta shows its age:

- Rooms full of mobs where you just open the door and slaughter them as they pour out
- Severely underestimation of players' general trap-savviness
- Nobody can agree whether slime should hurt you
