Vijayanagar Empire Celebrated Navratri ever Since Priest Vidyaranya, Propitiated Goddess Bhuvaneshvari, to Bless Harihara and Bukka.

Many Foreign Accounts Describe The Festivities.
Nicolo Conti, who visited Vijayanagar between 1420-21, described:

>3 important festivals were: Chaitra New year, Mahanavmi, Dipavali.

"On 9-day Festival, They set up Large Beams on Highways, and pieces of Beautiful cloths, woven with Gold, were Placed there"
Abdar-Razzaq, A Persian Official and Traveller, Described That Last 3 days, I.e. Ashtami, Navmi, and Dussehra, Great Festivities are Organised and Feudatories of Emperor Come To Pay Their Respects.
He further Describes:

9 pavilions were made, in 7th one, Razzaq was allotted the Place to stay.

Many Dancing Girls in large numbers were present who showed their Talents.

Another visitor, Domingo Paes, visited vijayanagar during The Reign of Krishna Dev Raya
He has Described the festival in Great Detail.
