Being led to this person w a rose posts is not what I needed this weekend while taking a bath using kettle heated water for the hundredth time this year. Many of the comments this person is getting are not called for & bad but the Twitter war OP is enjoying is disgusting.
I replied on the OP’s first post but deleted because they seemed like a absolute bully & manipulative. I will assume any https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🌹" title="Rose" aria-label="Emoji: Rose"> politic person on here who is following OP judges poor people as less than just the same, even if they speak of being ā€œcharitableā€. F that
I rarely come across actual poor people on here & I have spent most of my life dealing w the shame & judgement of being poor or struggling. I lived in suburbia for a long while so I was not born into poverty like others.
I realize that some people’s ideas of being poor are different than mine. But I just know I spent my teenage years defending my mom from people judging or shaming her for being poor & struggling.
I kicked a cop one time when she was arrested & tried fo fight him because it was a poverty crime & all I wanted to do was protect my mom. My privilege just got me a ride to school not arrested but my mom still went to jail.
I have internalized hatred for myself despite constantly trying to make my mom feel better about her situation. I can completely see the way poor people are judged in any societal situation & always have. It’s the cafeteria table all over again no matter what.
To be anti racist to me as a white person is to not be anti poor, as it’s linked. So many poor terms are racist in origin. To understand poverty you have to understand systemic racism.
I grew up in a city where I didn’t hear white people say the n word but you very much saw the devil of which was the white southern belle racism which had infiltrated so many ways in the south to do harm.
So I do not trust when some white lady is hating on poor people that they don’t have some ā€œpoliteā€ or ā€œcutesyā€ style racism underneath their liberal politics, as I have to go cry in anger over the words & politics used by white women who claim goodness but it’s just power.
It’s impossible to argue w them when you just look like a poor idiot & you are angered by their words & actions but they aren’t bothered at all. You just feel gaslit.
I’m white & I have to unlearn & learn stuff all the time regarding -isms so I’m not innocent. But it’s like going to HR Ashley about your 100’00 k boss Emily who uses the word ghetto, janky, hood, crackhead in conversations at work casually w your Black coworkers nearby.
You think Ashley gives a shit? Ashley lives in the suburbs & never even sees the hourly workers. Though boss Emily and her gab at Christmas about their kids & vacations.
All while Emily is telling Ashely how ā€œlazyā€ or ā€œhave attitudeā€ some of the employees are but other employees get called ā€œenthusiasticā€ & ā€œmore disciplinedā€, like no they r just look like you and are suck ups Emily.
Honestly hope no one reads this thread I just get tired of that subtle shit you see that is anti poor in nature but the person just says it’s a joke, sarcasm, not the point they were making. Like you used the easiest democratic gotcha point but it’s our fault we didn’t get it.
Republicans play on the same game. They play dumb & redneck when they are eating at the same places as Democrats & using the same drivers & tax man.
They are both elitist but democrats lean into that way more a lot of times. Hard to notice for many, but oh it’s there. Many poor people don’t vote because they don’t think they matter, so if you are showing them they don’t but say vote, it’s just a power thing for you.
