I was a bit distracted during the #BarcaReal fixture from yesterday, so I couldn't share my thoughts post-game. But, I rewatched the match over the night and, we honestly didn't play badly. We were in the game up and were keeping #Madrid at bay until the substitutions by #Koeman
We responded to the first goal in style and even after the second goal, we still were playing badly. Considering we had two el clasico debutants - Sergino Dest & Pedri Gonzalez - in our Starting XI yesterday, I would say it wasn't a bad performance at all. Up until the subs...
Notice how #Neto, who had very little to do for most of the second half - up until then, the penalty was the only tough test he had faced - got busy and had to pull those strings of saves - Kroos, Ramos - almost immediately after the substitutions? The momentum #madrid gained
after those substitutions and the pressure we started soaking in was eventually going to lead to a goal, and it did. In the most embarrassing way possible.

I know going down to a penalty in the #clasico wasn't a good feeling, but, I daresay, the subs hurt us more.
The subs also should have come earlier, as many of the players who started brightly were clearly tired and no longer in the game, but Koeman understands why he waited until late in the game to inject fresh energy into the team and resorted to desperately throwing bodies forward.
Also, we really need to work on our defending. We cannot afford to be getting caught sleeping like we did with that first goal. The defence was too relaxed at that point, maybe because the game had just started, but it shouldn't be so. We need to be at 100% from start to end.
On the positive side, Sergino #Dest was quite impressive yesterday. He wasn't overwhelmed by the weight of clasico even though he had never played in one before. Brilliant stuff, hopefully, he continues to improve.
In all, while I had hoped we would come out with a point at least, I wasn't particularly hopeful for a victory so this defeat did not come as a shock. We are in a transition, and it's not Pep Guardiola at the helm of affairs, so I expect a couple of disappointing results overtime
But, once again, we played well. We weren't outplayed. We created some decent chances. We were unlucky not to convert. We did our best. But our best wasn't enough yesterday. #ViscaBarca
