Here's a late night thread of comparing Goro Akechi and Tohru Adachi. BOTH THE SURPRISE VILLAINS FROM PERSONA 4 AND 5 YEAH BOTH OF THEM DID THERE CRIMES. ADACHI THREW PEOPLE IN A TV AND AKECHI CAUSED MENTAL SHUTDOWNS

First tweet. Introduction to THE PERSONA 4 VILLAIN TOHRU ADACHI. He's a clumsy rookie detective who works with Dojima-san(The protagonist's uncle). He's very clumsy, gets shit from Dojima all the time and oh yeah THE SERIAL KILLER IN PERSONA 4

Goro Akechi IS THE BLACK MASK FUCKERS BEHIND THE MENTAL SHUTDOWNS second coming against the detective prince. He works with the cardboard's sister. He is very anti-Phantom Thief and gets shit for it in the late game. MAYBE BECAUSE HES THE ONE BEHIND THE MENTAL SHUTDOWNS

My opinion is I feel like even though Adachi is the better character on his own. Akechi and Joker is one of the best villain hero relationship I've seen since well Batman and the Joker

One thing that makes them Akechi and Joker so great are in a way they somewhat relate to each other. One is a celebrity who everyone loves and cheers for but has no friends and is a loner. Joker is not. He gets shit on in school ESPECIALLY IF YOU GET A QUESTION WRONG HOLY SHIT

But one thing Joker has that Goro doesn't have is friends. Jokers friends are Ann, Ryuji, and Yusuke. He has a family with Sojiro and Futaba who he sees when he gets home.

I like Adachi as a villain for one simple reason. He has no motive for doing what he does he just does it. Instead his reason is him being alone for most of his life lead him to the state where he feels like the world was against and this is his way of revenge

One problem I do have with Akechi is he's too much like Adachi. Where I gave the introductions they both sounded very similar. When writing that part I almost said "They're both the happy character who gets shit on like by the main detective who are also villains"

Even in their releases both villains get a sad backstory but Adachi makes it work in a way. A person shunned down by society isn't and hates it isn't a rare thing. It's what makes the Joker The Joker in the 2019 origin movie

Another reason I don't like Akechi is his reason to kill. Adachi didn't have a reason. Akechi's reason is to get back at his father by killing whoever his father asked for a shoutout. That's not a realistic villain to me.

Mass shooters don't get made because "My father was a piece of shit so to get back at him I'm going to kill alot of people to get revenge on him"
