Random observation: I see where armed officers are conciliatory with mobs, the mobs tend to calm down. These young people seem to be bent on proving that they can't be oppressed anymore and are out to meet force with violence. If only govt would notice and respond appropriately. https://twitter.com/AIT_Online/status/1320057397101121536
I do not suppose that this is the universal case, but it is clear that there is justified anger on the streets and that talking to the mobs seems to help in some cases. Guns and bullets are not the solution to every unrest. These people want to know they are seen and heard.
The #endsars protesters didn't back down because they wanted to know, via proof, that they were heard. Now we see similar with the rampaging mobs. This isn't rocket science. Do we want to build our society or will we let ego ruin it? This question is for govt/security people.
At this point, threats don't seem to work, whether it is from the president or from God himself. Being in authority does not mean you have to be authoritarian. Talk to the people you serve. Above all, ACT. Action speaks louder than words.
Hello @followlasg @rrslagos767 @PoliceNG @jidesanwoolu, do have a look at the observations I made in this thread. May wisdom prevail. God bless Lagos State. God bless Nigeria.
