Spoiler talk ahead. Thread(ish). I hate to admit it, but this season actually quite impressed me. I was outright disgusted by Bryce Walker as a human being, and the things he did in Seasons 1 & 2, but I& #39;m a sucker for a good redemption story, and this season gave me exactly that.
I& #39;ll try and keep this as short and sweet as I can. The Bryce Walker Murder Mystery storyline that came about in this season took me by surprise, and to find out in the end who was really behind it was a shocker. Anyhow, onto the Bryce stuff.
This season actually made me like Bryce. I can imagine some people would call me crazy or insane for that, but I truly believe in atonement and second chances, no matter how terrible your actions may have been.
It was incredible to see Bryce no longer denying the terrible things he did, but instead owning up to them, and genuinely feeling regret and trying his best to sincerely apologize and make amends with everyone he wronged.
I think the fact that he wanted to have a face-to-face conversation with Mrs. Baker says a lot about his character development. He knew she despised him and hated his guts with every fibre of her being, but he didn& #39;t let that get in the way of his intent to set things right.
I also think that the fact that his first reaction to Chloe telling him about his baby was asking if she was alright, and apologizing he wasn& #39;t by her side for it was really sincere/sweet. There is no doubt in my mind that S1/S2 Bryce would& #39;ve flipped his shit in that scenario.
And then he went even further by telling Monty off in order to secure Tyler& #39;s safety, expressing his deep regret to Tony for what happened to his family and offering his assistance, and also making a tape for Jessica.
He explicitly stated on his tape how truly apologetic he was for his actions, and how he would understand if she never showed the tape to anyone, or if she did show it to anyone, or even if she didn& #39;t forgive him for it.
And on a somewhat-related note, the justice group crashing his funeral was absolutely sickening, no matter how wrong his past actions were. The family & friends at his funeral were grieving over someone they loved, and interrupting that process with a protest is not right at all.
Speaking of sickening, the way he died was truly haunting. He didn& #39;t deserve a death like that even slightly. he was giving his all to trying to better himself as a human being, and as Ani said, if he had lived, he would& #39;ve been able to show the world that redemption is possible.
I was deeply saddened by Alex and Jessica& #39;s actions, and how they just let it all unfold. That was a truly sick decision on both their parts. Bryce was badly beaten, on death& #39;s door, apologetic, and had two broken limbs, and they pushed him into the water completely helpless. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤢" title="Angewidertes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Angewidertes Gesicht">
Anyhow, that& #39;s my rant. Bryce& #39;s attempt at redemption doesn& #39;t at all excuse the terrible things he did in the early seasons, but nobody seemed to realise how truly sorry he was from the bottom of his heart, and how he would have done anything to atone and change for the better.
