What would you say is the best episode of “Batman: The Animated Series” and why? I’m going unconventional with “Perchance to Dream”.

Most episodes explore Batman as a character. “Perchance to Dream” is all about Bruce Wayne and challenging his principles by way of making his dreams come true. I don’t think any episode better explores why Bruce wears the cape and cowl.

Oh by the way, “Over the Edge” is a cheap half measure of an episode which acts like a “what if” or “Death in the Family” story only to wuss out and restore the status quo without developing the characters. Why it makes so many top ten lists is beyond me.
