The Wonderful 101 exists solely in an extremely unique genre of its own creation that i can only describe as "Character-Action Real Time Strategy Action Puzzle Game" and we need more people out here expanding this genre in 2021 and beyond

The Wonderful 101 is Starcraft made by a bunch of Kamen Rider fans who spent most of their childhood years collecting action figures and toys exclusively to make them pretend fight in a sprawling fan canon that they made exclusively for themselves and then sold it

when you think about W101 as an "MS-DOS world simulation game that moves at mach speed" instead of as "a beat-em-up with a lot of people in it", it makes SO much more sense as a videogame

actually, the more i think about it, W101 is more "Dynasty Warriors with puzzle elements" than it is "Pikmin with action elements"

i guess this thread is where i am going to put all of my Wonderful 101 takes every nine months that i think about the game
