Just watched that Borat/Giuliani scene again and I find it troubling. It& #39;s been widely advertised as Giuliani attempting to seduce an underage girl, but the actor is posing as a TV reporter in the scene; i.e. she& #39;s an adult (24 IRL). The film& #39;s promo this week has focused on ...
... Giuliani as a predatory paedophile, which is the most cynical smear imaginable. I hate Giuliani, but to imply he& #39;s a paedo for a bit of a chuckle – and to promote a film – is really, really low. Politics has hit rock bottom, and the good guys should strive to be better.
(There& #39;s also a pick-up shot of hands holding the book which clearly isn& #39;t Giuliani because there was no camera in that position. AND there are no "secret cameras" in the bedroom, the camera can clearly be seen on a tripod – if we can see it, then so could Giuliani.)
Anyway, that& #39;s my last word on it. Sorry, but I had to vent. I& #39;m really disappointed. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙁" title="Leicht stirnrunzelndes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Leicht stirnrunzelndes Gesicht">
