To disprove your point about expensive garments being meant for the people with lots of money & fame. Generally The people with billions don’t care for things as this, because they know what a scam it is.
It’s actually the lower and middle class keeping fashion brands alive. For someone who has never earned enough money to spend for nice- but expensive clothes as a child or Young adult, They would imagine everyday what they would do with that money. They would-
Want to show their riches outward, by wearing makeup and clothes. The black (also latino) community in The Us is the worst affected economically. Which is why their fashion can be very extra, “tacky”, very bling and out there.

Unfortunately. High fashion is a scam. You’re not paying for their workers or the quality. Fact is, you’re paying for tons and tons of burned items just so they could keep their products expensive. You’re paying for bags shipped from Asia and then to Paris/Milan or whatever
Fashion capital so they can put a tag in it saying ”made in *city in question*” just to have uneducated fools buy it. Fashion isn’t what Chanel choose to release this season. It’s what us- the middle and lower class (especially communities who value personal style) wear
