I love ghibli, but focusing purely the “wholesome” elements of it kind of strip the work of its meaning and in turn any art emulating that fails to make any work that challenges its audience

I have a lot more to say about this but like, Grave of the Fire Flys is a ghibli movie, you can also buy the candy tin...and I think that pretty much sums up what I’m trying to say

The other thing that find frustrating is most other westerners see ghibli as the only “acceptable” anime and wave everything else off as 2 dimensional which is just like, its so frustrating

Anyways princess mononoke is my favorite Miyazaki movie
