Ah i get it now. A lot of online leftists are the way they are because most of them arent actually here to do leftism, its an aesthetic choice wrapped around unachievable revolution ideation for the purpose of escapism. Its why they are in various ways allergic to being useful.

Like i get people absolutely raging at me sometimes. I didnt understand why pointing out simple pragmatism would cause this kind of reaction. Now i do. They spend all day doomscrolling and see these monumental problems right

These huge, systemic problems, interlinked with other huge systemic problems. It looks too big to solve. Your mind wants to reject the scale of it.

They do i think at some level care about the problems, so they dont get pulled into the right. But they also dont know what to actually do about it, so they adopted an apocalyptic future revolution that will save everyone.

Its why theres so many grifters. Its so much easier for someone to sell you ideas that involve you not actually doing anything to change things and giving you justifications as to why the hard, grueling work of fixing it is too problematic to try.

It also explains the infighting. They are just clashes of escapist scenarios. Mock battles that have no impact on the real world. If the left for some miraculous reason all rallied behind one left ideology they would just find reasons to fight again.

Basically its just playing online age of empires with other escapists.

Deep down they dont want to struggle against systems of oppression. Its too hard for them and they gave up years ago. Doomerism is just the logical end point of all of that.
