I don& #39;t necessarily disagree with delaying a couple of days. The frustration comes from telling people (twice) you& #39;ll likely be able to open up early and then not. Why do that? From a basic comms perspective it& #39;s so self-defeating. Like repeatedly punching yourself in the face.
It makes no sense to give a strung out, exhausted community false hope and then pull the rug from under them at the last minute. If you& #39;re not certain, don& #39;t say anything until you have certainty you& #39;re opening up. It& #39;s the on/off nature of this that& #39;s making people despair.
From a public messaging perspective it& #39;s always better to under-promise and then over-deliver rather than the other way around. This is just basic PR. It feels like that& #39;s never been more important. What you say publicly has massive implications for the community& #39;s mental health.
