How about if standard OS windows had little nodes along their sides you could click and drag to obtain a hose through which data could be pored into other windows by connecting to their nodes?

Maybe so for instance you could extend a hose out of a particular browser tab with e.g. twitter open and connect it to a text editor and data from the twitter api just pours into the text editor
