Honestly, it doesnt take bad intent for people to be a distraction/actually impede revolutionary work imo.
There are people who think they are actually changing the world through jumping from inbox to inbox, starting callout upon callout, being cruel to people from anonymous accounts, engaging with theory to drag people but not actually organizing or building power
and I sadly truly believe that these people, these same people who are invested in creating unnecessary dissension because of some bitterness in their own lives think they are truly doing the work. They think they are truly building a movement.
They have politicized their jealousy, boredom, or dislike for themselves so much that they truly believe that through creating online conflict, they are actually doing the same thing organizers are doing to move us forward towards liberation.
Look back on this year. Who have you helped? Who have you built with? Which relationships have you strengthened? How have you furthered revolutionary goals? If your only answer is getting more followers,
calling out someone that you have a fictitious relationship with in your head because of your projections, or watching other people for behaving in ways that dont align with your own self-created moral code, then YOU ARE IN FACT part of the problem.
You are in fact an enemy, and a distraction to the movement, despite reading all of the books and theory. If you are more invested in commenting snarky shit on peoples posts or DMing people to get them to "cancel" others because you dislike them instead of...idk
READING, creating systems of care and support, finding processes to support survivors, building a base, meeting people's material needs, etc then you are not actually interested in organizing or praxis.
You are interested in creating chaos. Thats it. You are not building anything. You are getting us nowhere closer to getting free. You are just as anti-revolutionary as those that are more blatant for their hatred of progress.
