Senators, on Thursday, October 28 Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s CEO, is scheduled to appear before the Commerce Committee to discuss censorship and social media companies’ immunity from liability as provided in Section 230(c) of the Communications Decency Act. 1/6
Respectfully request that you query Jack abt Twitter’s censorship of women whose accounts are being locked/permanently suspended for statements in defense of their sex-based rights which cannot under any reasonable, objective assessment be considered "hateful" or "abusive." 2/6
Attached are just a few tweets which illustrate the point, including one in which an account was locked for stating that “only females get cervical cancer," an irrefutable, biological fact. Hundreds more are contained in the excellent thread linked in the next tweet which has 3/6
similar examples of Twitter locking/suspending women’s accounts for statements of objective fact & reasonable opinion. As noted in Twitter's own policy, women are *also* a marginalized group; all of these statements are made during discourse/debate 4/6 https://twitter.com/SamBarber1910/status/1308731264510431233
regarding the tangible, real world impact of gender identity initiatives on the hard fought, legally protected sex-based rights of women, girls & lesbians. They contain no profanity, slurs, or any language which cld objectively be considered "hateful" or "abusive." 5/6
Meanwhile, Twitter allows porn, open discussions of pedophilia & all manner of misogynistic, racist, vulgar, & vile language on its platform. Women are being disparately impacted & unfairly censored, and it needs to be addressed. Please have your staff DM for more details. 6/6
