I'm gonna be starting a thread of underrated cards from my Commander Cube, since I feel like having fun. The first card is the absolute best blocker of all time, Serene Master.

This guy blocks like nobody else, and looks good doing it. It's clean, it's fun, please play this more
This card holds a special place in my heart as one of the best blowouts I've ever caused in a game of Commander. Down to just two of us, my friend taps out to swing with 45 power worth of creatures. I play this, make a 45/45, and then swing back to end the game.

Play this card.
Do you find yourself wanting to crack in for combat but afraid of their one deathtouch creature killing your best attacker?

Fear not, Gustcloak Savior's got your back. With this bird friend, you can just undo any bad blocks you might run into.

Use this card in aggro strategies.
This card was absolutely overshadowed by Smothering Tithe when it was printed, but Silverwing Squadron is SUCH a good card.

Even if you put it on an empty board, it will be attacking with a minimum of 4 power AND just made you an extra 6 power with vigilance.
On to white noncreature spells! I recently shared this one with y'all, but it has to be mentioned here too.

Please. Please play Debt of Loyalty more. It's SO much fun.
Comeuppance caused a lot of discussion at first printing, but soon lost favor. I think it just had a PR problem.

Don't try to think of this card like Deflecting Palm. It's not that. Think of this card like Settle the Wreckage.

NOW you're thinkin' with Comeuppance.
Stop playing this card like it's a defensive card. Just stop. This card is SO AGGRESSIVE.

You can use this to attack without fear of crackback, AND you'll be able to use fewer blockers in the process.

Vigilance is an aggro keyword in Commander.
Every once in a while I just feel the urge to remind people that Prison Term exists and is REALLY REALLY good.
Song of the Worldsoul is such an incredible card for token strategies. I love it.

Can you not afford the nearly $24 USD it would cost to get an Anointed Procession? Just play this $0.78 card instead.
Moving on to blue, with Dulcet Sirens!

As far as I can tell, this is the only card that not only repeatedly forces a creature to attack, but also chooses which opponent that creature attacks. That's REALLY strong.

Morph is flavor text on this card. Play it in your blue decks.
Sage of Fables is weird. It has two pieces of flavor text. The first flavor text just says "Each other Wizard you control etb's with an additional +1/+1 counter." /s

Are you playing a counters deck with Blue in it? Play this friend.
Vedalken Humiliator might be the most aggressive blue card in the cube, tbh. Metalcraft is always easier to turn on than you think.

All I want is an alter of this card with Principal Skinner saying "Pathetic."
Dream Fracture used to be a staple of Commander, but now you hardly ever see it. I absolutely love the way this card softens the political blow of countering a friend's spell.

I want to see this card more often.
Remember what I said about vedalken Humiliator?

This cube doesn't have many unconditional board wipes. I find that slows games too much. Instead, it runs cards that break board stalls in more interesting, creative ways.

Polymorphist's Jest is perfect for that.
If you're in the business of holding up lots of mana for counter spells, make sure you've got on-board interaction as well!

Supplant Form is a really cool version of an instant-speed clone effect that also throws back your friend a *LOT* on tempo. It does a lot for 6 mana!
Mystic Speculation is next on my Underrated Commander Cube thread. This card can singlehandedly fuel a spellslinger deck with its very cheap Buyback cost, and the Scry 3 is nothing to laugh at.

Only ever printed in Future Sight, you'd expect this to cost more than just $1.37.
Onward, to black cards! Nezumi Graverobber is so much fun!! Once it gets flipped (which is much easier than you might think in most games) it reads "(4)(B): Put target creature card in a graveyard onto the battlefield under your control."

Repeatable, instant-speed reanimation.
Gruesome artwork aside, Flesh Carver is an incredible card. It's incredibly easy to forget that on top of becoming huge VERY quickly and also replacing itself when it dies, this card also somehow has Intimidate.

Super aggressive, super fun, play this card more often.
Bloodtracker is sooo much better than it seems, mostly because people keep seeing it the wrong way. This card isn't a great combo enabler or aristocrats card, but it is absolutely fabulous as an aggro card. It also has a good bit of synergy in +1/+1 counter decks too. Play it!
People don't much like aggro cards in Commander, but I absolutely love them. Mirri the Cursed is an incredible card despite looking simple at face value.

This card also has a special place in my heart for being one of the first cards I ever altered.
If you've ever been in a game where an Archfiend of Depravity stuck on the table for a round, you know what I mean when I say that this. Card. Warps. Games.

At only $1.72 USD, I'd recommend picking this up.
I'm focusing a lot on aggro cards during this thread, but that's because I'm sure you already know about a lot of the good card draw or value enablers in Commander.

I'm here to share the fun stuff.

Titan Hunter is not an aristocrats card. It is an aggro finisher.
This will be the end of black cards on this thread, so I'll put in a not-so-underrated-but-still-underplayed card, Marchesa's Decree.

Do you like card draw and want to discourage combat? Play this card!

Even better, it still speeds up the game by causing life loss. Win win!
Underrated red cards in my Commander Cube start off with a doozy, in Monty Python and the Goblin Diplomats.

Now, I'm fully aware that your friend will likely attack you when you activate this. But how often have you been in a game and a player simply doesn't have a good attack?
Red Dark Confidant this is definitely not, but Sin Prodder is still a great card you should be running if you like conditional card draw and noncombat damage. It's also extra nice if you've got a truce with a friend and they let you keep every card!

Also, this is only $0.42 USD!
Varchild, Betrayer of Kjeldor is exactly the kind of aggro I like to play. She doesn't exactly *force* combat, but unless your opponent has a sac outlet (and why would you attack a sacrifice player with Varchild?), they won't be doing anything but combat with the survivor tokens.
Obsidian Fireheart is my baby. I love this card so much. It's big, it's scary, and, best of all, it has some of the best intuitive technical description ever.

"The land continues to burn" is not flavor text, but goddamn if it isn't some of the most flavorful reminder text ever.
Whenever I think of a dragon card designed for Commander, this is the first one I imagine. Mana-Charged Dragon is such a fun card design, and it enables some really entertaining stories when players team up to make a gigantic dragon.
This card was completely ignored when it first came out, but I love it so much. Reality Scramble enables so many good stories. You can get extra landfall triggers, enable fun ETB decks, and polymorph goblins into dragons.

Play this alongside Unexpected Results for extra fun.
Insult to Injury is an incredible finisher card. Most times that you want a damage doubler it'll only be for one turn, and this is the cheapest one there is. You'll rarely use Injury, but since you already got the effect you wanted from Insult,

It's free real estate.
Yet another card that got lampooned during preview season and is actually fine.

Put this in a deck, and next time you play it early put two dice next to it. One to track how much total damage it deals, and another for how many enchantments it deals with.

Incremental. Value.
Ah, Frenzied Fugue.

Only a single printing from years ago, and $0.43 USD currently.

I'll say this once, and only once.

Planeswalkers. Are. Permanents.
Green!! Hua Tuo, Honored Physician is a great utility card. Whatever best creature is in your graveyard now becomes the next card you draw, all for the cost of nothing each turn after casting it.

I'll also remind you that you can activate Hua Tuo on your upkeep, before you draw.
While not quite as good at blocking as Serene Master, I still love the ability that Phantom Nantuko has to just drop a brick wall in front of combat.

Block every turn without fear, or attack without fear after pumping it up either over time or from a big counter doubler.
Most people know about this card, but I still need to say that Skullwinder is a fantastic card. A deathtoucher that gets a card from your graveyard and lets an opponent do it too? Play some politics and that's WAY better than Eternal Witness.

It's also $0.33 USD. Witness is $5.
