I think there’s such a unique issue right now in the tennis world. We see the big names slowing down (at least mathematically lol) and the media is in such a fever to find the next big thing that anytime someone wins a match, they fluff them as the future being now.
1/??
Medvedev last year
Sinner this year
Coco last year
Kenin this year

If you’re 25 and under they are desperate for exposure on a global level. The pressure placed on these kids is insane. This is how we end up with one hit wonders and fading seasons.
This is part of what happened with Sascha, Domi, Grigor, etc - they started winning a few high profile matches and were lauded as the second coming.

We aren’t getting a second golden era back to back, we just aren’t. The future is unpredictable.
We aren’t going to get another trio or quad that wins 5+ majors and make every final. We will have some interesting and new finals in the next ten years. Some kids we aren’t watching now will end up with more majors than some big current names. Some of ours may never win one.
But the media makes the pressure heavy. We need to stop looking for the next big thing or predicting huge success because of one run. The big names happen naturally over time.

FAA, Sinner, Rublev, Meddy, Kenin, Iga - these are great players, but they may not be the next big name
And that’s ok. Stop forcing it and just accept it. Let’s enjoy what we have and stop trying to replace it immediately. We don’t get this era back, let’s not waste it trying to force the torch into a kids hand. It will happen when it’s supposed to.

This was long. Sorry.
