Earlier this month, @WindowsUpdate installed the cumulative October update and sent my PC into a boot loop. I was able to recover the PC and pause updates, but the update was installed again last night with the same results.

I'd like to suggest better mitigation tools. Disabling updates does not seem to be supported so I was unable to refuse this update using discoverable tools in Windows. This is not the first time What's worse, this is not the first time that I've encountered something like this.

Please see this thread, @MicrosoftHelps. @WindowsUpdate has destroyed my @Windows installation. Previous mitigations are not working, and the PC is stuck in a boot loop.
