I am a blue voter in a deeply red state. We’re not ever mentioned in pushes for voters because it’s a foregone conclusion our state will vote for Trump and GOP. I will admit, in this situation, it’s easy to feel like my vote and efforts don’t matter. /1
/2 But thanks to people like @DHStokyo and @erikhalvorsen18 I learned better. First, though TN is deeply red, there are blue pockets. I learned that I can make a difference in two major ways. First, I can focus on other States that will make a difference on a National level.
/3 Supporting DEM Congressional candidates in other States supports the entire Nation, and that’s important. As we’ve seen with the GOP blocking of many bills, flipping the Senate is equally important as the POTUS election.
/4 And second, I learned to recognize there are blue pockets in my deeply red State. So if I want to change TN, I have to focus locally. The way to flip TN blue is to vote blue locally and expand those blue pockets each and every election. Every year. Every time.
/5 To sum it all up, blue voters in deeply red states DO matter. We matter nationally, and we matter locally. So get out there and #Vote 🇺🇸🌊
