I may write a cookbook with my MIL's recipes. Some examples. A thread.
Slow-Cooker Pork Loin:

Place a pork loin--by itself--in a slow cooker on high heat for 5 hrs. Do not season.

Serve when dry.
Roast Chicken Breast:

Place chicken breast in oven (on a sheet pan or whatever) at 375 degrees for 89 minutes. Do not season.

Serve hot and dry.
Hamburgers:

Place store-made hamburger patty on grill or frying pan on high heat for 10 minutes. Flip and allow to cook until juices run clear and then stop entirely. Remove from heat and allow to rest for 15-20 minutes. Serve immediately at room temperature.
Mashed Potatoes:
Peel & cut potato into chunks. Boil in plain water until soft. Drain and place into a bowl with 1/4 cup of SKIM milk. Beat with an electric beater for 30 minutes until smooth. Microwave on high for 10 minutes, scoop directly into mouth.
Thanksgiving Turkey:
Place turkey into oven at 350 degrees for 7 hours. Do not season; do not baste (throw your baster out). Remove turkey and let rest for 1 hour while preparing mashed potatoes (above). Serve cold and dry.
"Asian" Rice:
Prepare Uncle Ben's rice as per box instructions. Add soy sauce to taste (i.e., until the color of soy sauce). [Can be served with Slow-Cooker Pork Loin.]
Corn on the Cob:
Buy fresh corn. Husk. Place in boiling water for 20 minutes. Serve hot with a stick of unsalted butter when corn has the consistency of a wet towel.
Scrambled Eggs:
Beat one egg in a bowl. Spray pan with Pam. Cook over high heat while stirring egg in pan for 6-8 minutes until cooked thorough, then add 5 minutes to be sure.
Bonus recipes from my mother:
TUNA CASSEROLE. Prepare egg noodles as per package. Place in baking tray. Stir in Campbell's cream of mushroom soup. Add 2 or 4 cans of tuna (drained). Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve.
HOT DOG CASSEROLE: Prepare as if for tuna casserole. Sub a chopped up package of hot dogs (drained) for tuna. Serve.
Principles of serving vegetables: Serve canned if available, otherwise frozen. If must use fresh, boil/steam until colorless and/or mashable *but do not actually mash* the diner should mash on the plate with a fork
