Post 1/1 Our Public Hearing is Monday. We’re asking @GlasgowCC to remove the clause - from the asset transfer they have granted us-which would allow them to take back any part of the land for an educational establishment.The following Posts are why they should remove this clause
post 2/1 We already support over 22 local schools using the land for outdoor learning and education. These are local children who can walk to the land with their school and return in the evenings and weekends for play.
post3/1The council ask why the land is different from the local play park or River Kelvin. Here’s some reasons why it is different. INCLUSION @EastPark say they feel included @childrens_wood they have young people up to age 17/18 so it wouldn't be appropriate to use the park
suitable RISK TAKING @EastParkGlasgow say – climbing trees lighting fires – are not allowed in other parks urban areas. Their YP crave this. It provides them with safe opportunities to take risk so that they can lessen their desire to risk take in less safe environments.
post 5/1 @EastParkGlasgow also say @childrens_wood is a place for East Park to INTEGRATE with our local community - links with the community garden. A real chance for our YP to participate and give back to the community.
post 6/1MENTAL HEALTH - people with complex ASN often have anxiety, depression and complicated sensory disorders. Being outdoors in green space is hugely beneficial, and as above, there are limited urban places to achieve this without worrying about other members of public
