Today at 10amPT/ 1pmEST I'm playing in a game of #HarlemUnbound (w/ @honeyanddice as the Keeper) by @Darker_Hue and wanted to say how it has already been an experience that has forced me to learn about not only the Harlem renaissance but also my own culture as an Asian American.
I want to play an Asian character who lived among the racial tension & realized I wasnt aware of a lot of the struggles for a lot of immigrants, including Chinese immigrants who came to America in the 1900s. This brought up the case of Lum v Rice & my PC "Bertie Lum" was created!
This allowed me to educate myself on segregation and how it effected Chinese immigrants. For the case, Lum's daughter was denied access to white schools, but also it forced me to introspectively look colorism within the Asian community.
