It seems that a lot of parents think that encouraging their daughters to be strong and allowing them to love things that are typically considered “boy things,” means they are being inclusive.
However, until we as a society also stop shaming boys for enjoying things that are typically considered “girl things” with the same reckless abandon, women and girls will still be perceived as “lesser” by the men we are raising.
In the same vein, we as parents need to normalize boys idolizing strong women.
It is near impossible for me to find any clothes which are cut for boys that have female heroes on them.
It’s frustrating.
