I know a lot of disabled people who are shielding.

We're still doing it just without the government provided food parcels, PPE, or the phone calls we previously got from our local authorities to make sure we're safe.

There is no safety net.

We're either having to work (since the government say sheilding no longer needed) in our public facing jobs, or are having to survive on very little. Having a disability is expensive. (2/5
Mobility equipment, extra heating, prescriptions, accessible housing, adaptive tech, medical equipment and many other things others wouldn't consider are huge barriers.

Research released by the Office For National Statistics two months ago revealed that young disabled women were 11x more likely to die from covid than (4/5
their counterparts. So many of us have been written off - either through benefits of Do not resuscitate orders put in against our will. Reach out.
