#ToryScum instead of investigating in education to reduce rates and make it as safe as other sectors @Conservatives have rolled back on everything they said re schools #dontmentiontheschools https://twitter.com/paysupplystaff/status/1319972438466322432
Lie 1. Children don’t transmit the virus. Yet this has been proved wrong the Deputy Chief Medical Officer even stated this week the young have seeded this virus back to the older generations.
Lie 2. Children only get a mild illness and don’t seem to suffer. However no @MattHancock claims all ages are at risk of long Covid and there has been reports of inflammatory response in children. There was children ventilated in the first wave.
Lie 3. They would provide laptops for home learning as the initial tweet states this is already rolled back and yet they’ve made it compulsory for schools who have to isolate children to provide remote learning 🤦🏼‍♀️
Lie 4. Low prevalence of virus, fully functional TT was required to reopen and schools were claimed to be safer environments yet there is more regulation in a pub than a classroom.
Lie 5. Original guidance stated schools were low risk settings, this has been quietly removed as over the past seven weeks educational settings have grown to be the highest for Covid for the last four weeks now
Lie 6. They have put in guidance that masks hinder education it seems the real reason they won’t put mask wearing in like other countries is based on behavioural science not public health. If we say masks are needed it would mean they are at risk
Lie 7. Bubbles they are not there for protection it was clear mixing with a min of 30 others a day was not a bubble, they were so teachers could isolate contacts when cases occurred without closing. Here’s a school in Dundee yesterday
Lie 8. They know this virus is aerosol based, it’s airborne. So the only guidance regarding ventilation is to open all windows and doors where possible and tell children to wear extra layers and coats in class.
