/ I have had such a shit attitude about Janey Godley over the years, completely unfairly and all based on the fact I don’t really enjoy her comedy. But I listened to her Full Discolsure interview with @mrjamesob last week and it changed everything for me. What a remarkable woman
/ She is probably one of the strongest women I’ve ever heard about, her story is greatly upsetting but also full of hope. She’s experienced child poverty first hand and this article has just reduced me to tears https://medium.com/@janeygodley_42972/child-poverty-and-hunger-thread-df72d413bfb6">https://medium.com/@janeygod...
/ I am SO privileged. I grew up in a middle class village, never wanted for anything let alone food - that was very much a given in my world. I never for a moment considered that any of my peers in high school could be experiencing this, yet in hindsight I am sure many were.
/ I am so upset that we live with Tory rule in the UK where they have ACTIVELY voted for more kids to grow up like Janey did (and worse). They are nothing short of evil.
But I am SO thankful for people like her sharing their reality and educating privileged fools like me. /End
