In a sane world, the quote & #39;Youths are the leaders of tomorrow& #39; is plausible, but as we all can see, Nigeria is not a sane country. I believe a quote a protester raised during the #EndSARS https://abs.twimg.com/hashflags... draggable="false" alt=""> protest best describes what I will be sharing today - & #39;Youths are the leaders of TODAY& #39;
Our leaders have shown themselves to not having the interest of the masses at heart. They have proven themselves to be irredeemably corrupt, hence we need a new way of combating these slave drivers who call themselves our leaders
Why should we keep demanding good governance from people who clearly do not care about us? Why should we keep asking for change from them when WE CAN BE THE CHANGE WE SO DESIRE???
Hear me out...
The youths make up more than 70% of active voters in Nigeria. We can leverage our numbers in the forthcoming election in 2023 to systematically rid our political system of these corrupt leaders. How you ask? Let me tell you how...
We will form a political party where interested youths can register to become members. We would register the party in all 36 states of Nigeria. We would outline every available political seat in every state up to the federal level(presidency, house of assembly, governor, LGA etc)
We would carry out primaries to elect one of us for every one of those political seats(Remeber this is happening in all 36 states). Then years before the election in 2023, we would galvanize every youth to support our course through social media, radio, TV, music, etc
We would encourage the youths to get their PVC& #39;s as it is essential for them to exercise their power. We would show these unrepentant leaders that power belongs to the people and not them. That we the youths have the power to decide the fate of Nigeria and not them
Come 2023, if the youths who are the majority of active voters vote for their own party, where will the likes of APC or PDP get their votes from? At this point, some of you are having objections and reasons why you think this might not work. Things like ...
Lack of funds, disunity amongst the youths, thuggery are a few of the problems we might run into while trying to carry out this plan. We can generate funds from our supporters in Nigeria and in diaspora through the GoFundMe platforms...
The youths have shown that we can be united when we share a common grievance as seen during the #EndSARS https://abs.twimg.com/hashflags... draggable="false" alt=""> movement. Every youth shares the grievance of poor leadership, hence we will unite to put an end to it. Thuggery can be remedied through campaigns to enlightening and ...
Convincing the thugs through dialogues that our objective as a party would be beneficial for them on the long run. If we can get up to 60% of them on board with our mission, they would be there to defend our votes when corrupt politicians try to influence the elections come 2023
If you have your reservations about this idea, please share. We have bright minds in Nigeria who can proffer solutions to whatever problem we mind run into. This thread is to create awareness and get us to find lasting solution to whatever problem we might encounter. Thanks
