I come from a one parent family, my mum had an addiction to bingo, there was 5 of us and my dad paid his maintenance every week without fail, but she would spend it in the bingo, #FSD were the only food we got most days, we would come home from school to no food in the house

We would go hungry until dinner time the next day, school holidays were a nightmare, my friends mum would feed me some days, but the other days I wouldn’t eat, we would starve and she would be in the bingo spending whatever money she could get her hands on, was it our fault?

No it wasn’t, 40 years on and I wouldn’t let anyone go hungry especially a child, so some of you who judge a child for being hungry, take your rose tinted glasses off and look at the big picture
