I hated cooking for the most time growing up but my family's rule was that everyone cooks, so I used to intentionally oversalt food or let it burn so they can stop me from cooking but Madre knew it was a game and refused to let me off the hook.

One incident I will never forget was one day I was asked to assist with prep fried rice, I must have been 12 or 13 at the time. I insisted I couldn't cut carrots and peppers and my sister said we will use it anyhow I cut it, that it doesn't matter but I must cut it.

I deliberately chopped the carrots and onions into huge chunks, the peppers still had their stalk and all but guess what? My mom used it like that and the family ate dinner that day pretending it was okay. The very next day my mom dumped a load of veggies again on me.

Said 'you will keep cutting and cleaning them until you learn how to do it well cos in this house everyone cooks including your father so you will learn'. This was when I stopped being a brat and started learning to do it right and I am so glad I did

Don't let men scam you, I promise you 100% that he can handle grocery shopping and supermarket runs and if he makes mistakes well he will go back again and correct it. Resist the urge to take over cos you are frustrated, that is what he wants to achieve.
