The thing is like it sounds a little bit like a crazy conspiracy theory to say the alt-right create sockpuppets to fake discourse, and they organize them to toe the line with persistent "just asking questions"; but just look at my timeline the last 48 hours.
Look at the huge chains in the reddit threads on the discord. It's 100% that strategy.

We can organize against it. It's why they're mad at our code of conduct. We've found an effective way to keep them out of our community and it's fairly straightforward.
1. Actually accept these techniques happen and ban people practicing them.

2. Ban their cultural internet dogwhistles (kek, 4chan, pepe), good faith folk will be like "hey no prob" if you ask nicely to not use those, bad faith folk blow their lids.

3. Pick some honeypot discussion topics that are ripe for line-toeing and put them under watch in your coc. The dumbass bad actors CANNOT HELP but get incredibly mad about them. They out themselves immediately and violently.
They're attacking our discord code of conduct, and moderation techniques, *because they work*
it's a concentrated campaign aimed not at the game, but at an inclusive community that successfully excises the worst alt-right actors that have run amok over the last decade in gaming communities
here is our coc for reference (masterminded by @a_plantgirl and @ohnoproblems, I take no credit, I'm just expressing their effective design here as concisely as I can)
