I feel like people are more so attached to the Hetalia characters rather than the actual show. There’s a reason why the fandom has still been thriving on the down low.
Not to say that the show isn’t good, but it’s really the characters that make the show so intriguing. They have interesting dynamics and relatable cause theirs a scope of personalities on there.
Antis are quick to assume a lot of stuff about our fandom based off of a small % of people that have done shit that most of us condemn. I’ve been in so many fandoms and I can promise you all fandoms have a problematic side to them. It’s just a matter of how you deal with the bad
While the show is about history, they are actual anime characters that we get attached to because they have personalities OUTSIDE of their personifications.
It’s okay to dislike Hetalia. I’m not going to speak over voices that have an issue with it and neither am I going to invalidate your feelings. But the problem comes from the labeling/name calling from anti’s/former stans.
It’s unnecessary and counter productive to go under the tag and harass people and call them names on twtter dot com, especially since people have hyper fixations on Hetalia or find comfort in the characters.
Nonetheless, we as a fandom DONT condone the problematic crap and will call out ANYONE that endorses in it and get on their asses.
