You leave the crackers on diwali, they say don't use water on holi, u leave water. Then they say, don't tie rakhi to brothers on rakshabandhan as it is patriarchy, u leave rakhi. Then they say, don't play dahi handi, you could get hurt, u leave dahi handi.

This ends when right at the beginning, u do not stop anything. Just limit the excesses to help nature in modern times. Be responsible but keep up your uniting, harmonious, joyful N fun traditions.

It only ends there. Else, it can never end until the last tradition gets buried.
Why traditions shouldn't be buried? Allow your children to ask questions, specially festivity traditions that don't cost too much in anyway.

Because traditions unite, make network, ppl get together, families wish each other, help is sought and given, daana is done, so!! Joy
Women get money and gifts, prayers r done, children learn about ancestors and Gods, ethnic clothes and foods get prepared, men bond and spend their time more with families, work travel gets restricted, houses r decorated and u wish everyone on the road who looks like your own! So
Children call their grandparents on both sides, elderlies feel involved, temples look pretty and higher vibrations resonate in those areas, angels and deities get invoked if one stays responsible enough!
