Just read the Expensify CEO’s letter and the replies by people who think business and politics should be separate concern me.

When will they realize that _nothing_ is separate and pretending there is isolation where there never was any is foolish and even dangerous?
Politics and business go hand in hand. You elect legislators that pass laws and regulations that affect how businesses operate. Businesses use lobbyists to get favorable legislation. This is the world we live in. They are inseparable, it’s naïveté to think otherwise.
You can dislike his politics and stop using Expensify, but getting mad that he shared his beliefs, when the beliefs of politicians and CEOs literally shape our lives is ridiculous.

You should be thanking him that he was so open and clear. We deserve that from all our leaders.
To the coward @TheEduardoRFS you who immediately deleted the tweets in the picture, the next tweets in this thread are for you (these are my notifications, so I’m answering the bottom one first)
1) implicit agreements aren’t really agreements, they’re traditions, and aren’t legally binding

2) you gave them a way to contact you. The onus is yours to sever that connection.

3) their beliefs already shape the business. Making them explicit informs the customer.
And yes, as a person who presumably participates in the world, their beliefs affect you and your life.

Consider Twitter, which started under the democratic belief that all people can have a platform. Their belief ultimately gave you a chance to showcase your cowardice.
