Price break down of my first shopify store

1. Domain and Shopify plan

$30 a month for plan

$8 a year for the domain (probably more if the domain is a .us or other ending)

2. My actual product

For the total of 200 units with shipping, I paid

$227

3. Fulfillment center (shipmonk)

Storage - $3.90 a month (changes depending on size of product)

ShipMonk is prepaid so I had to put money in my balance before they fulfilled anything

Price per unit fulfilled ~ $5.50

4. Advertisements

I am unsure about how much I will spend but I am aiming at $100 for starting out.

This will definitely change depending on the profitability of my store.

I am advertising via big pages on instagram

I am selling my products for $17.

The fulfillment center takes out $5.50 of that for every unit that they fulfill.

Let's say I sell out of all 200 units per month.

Total revenue: $3,400

Total costs(assuming everything sold) : ~$1,500

Total profit: $1,900

So, overall, from my first store. I should expect somewhere around

$1,900 dollars in profit in my first month, assuming I sell all 200 units.

This is a rough estimate but I am anticipating something around that number.

Before I sell anything, my cost total to just set up the store is
Just $400 (includes domain, plan for a month, stock, and ads)

The bulk of the overall cost is money I pay to have my orders fulfilled by ShipMonk, money I get back when the sale is made anyway.

That concludes this thread. I thought I would share my costs with you guys for some insight on what you can expect if you start your own.
