Yeah I know, it’s good to talk about how to manage holidays this year, but 1) do it with a modicum of emotional intelligence and 2) STOP SUGGESTING ZOOM FOR EVERYTHING.

Emotional needs are real. People are exceedingly lonely. Yeah, our holidays are going to have to change this year, but preemptively shaming people for daring to think about gathering with family for the holidays is a such a stupid, insensitive, and ineffective way to do that.
That one thread got under my skin so badly because the framing was basically “you dumb rubes could have ended coronavirus by not grilling on Labor Day, but because you grilled, we are now taking away Thanksgiving.”
