In the moment, it never seems like enough. For some, darkness is all weâve known and all we see ahead of us.
But even in defeat, each percentage point towards an ideal represents Americans who have decided that on the other side of a ballot lies a better future.

For sitting public servants, each percentage point represents an emphatic answer to the long-ignored question âWho do we serve?â.
Every point is dollars drained. Stress. Changes in strategy. Messaging and eventually policy that bends toward the will of the people.

Most importantly of all, a point in the right direction represents a person who has a reason to believe in the power of their voice again.
And that is the best thing you can ask for, because a person who believes in goodness and the power of their voice is not just one person. They can become a pillar of their community, and hope has the funny characteristic of radiating from its source.
